Apr 20, 2009 · The data set contains 1,000,206 ratings of 3,952 movies by 6,040 users. Ratings are on an ordinal scale from 1 to 5. The data is 95.7% sparse. In addition to the ID for each user and item some meta data is also provided for 88% of the users and 98% of the items. The meta data provided is shown in Table 1. The annotations provided here are free to use for any purpose (except claiming that you made them, unless you are me, who made them). These annotations are in no way an official part of the VIRAT dataset, and is not endorsed by or otherwise associated with the VIRAT dataset and its creators.
